Trekking

Santa Cruz Trek

Santa Cruz Trekking is located within Huascarán National Park, connecting the Santa Cruz, Huaripampa, and Llanganuco valleys.

During your stay in the Cordillera Blanca, you will enjoy stunning views of the Andean landscape. You will have panoramic views of the snow-capped peaks Caraz, Alpamayo, Taulliraju, Artesón, Rinrijirca, Chacraraju, Huascarán, Huandoy, Chopicayqui, and many others.

TIPS:

  • Due to the high altitude of the Santa Cruz Trek (reaching up to 4,750 m / 15,584 ft at Punta Unión Pass), we strongly recommend doing at least one full-day acclimatization hike before starting this trek.
  • Proper acclimatization will allow you to enjoy the trek safely and comfortably.

Recommended acclimatization hikes before the Santa Cruz Trek:

  • Churup Lake

  • Wilcacocha Lake

  • Uruscocha Lake

  • Ahuac Lake

  • Rajucolta Lake

  • Laguna 69

These hikes allow your body to gradually adapt to the altitude and significantly reduce the risk of altitude sickness during the Santa Cruz Trek.
