We depart from the city of Huaraz early in the morning, picking up each participant from their respective hotels. We then head north of Huaraz through the Callejón de Huaylas, passing through Carhuaz and Yungay.
From Yungay, we continue east through the villages of Umacchuco, where we stop for breakfast at local restaurants, and then proceed to the Huascarán National Park checkpoint. We pass by the Llanganuco Lakes (3,850 m.a.s.l.), Chinancocha and Orconcocha, and finally arrive at Cebolla Pampa.
At Cebolla Pampa, we begin our hike to Pisco Base Camp, which takes approximately 3 to 4 hours.
Upon arrival, we set up camp and organize the camping equipment. We then have a mountaineering briefing and instruction on the proper use of mountaineering equipment, followed by dinner and rest.
